Averie has been a frequent sleepover guest, but has rarely had friends spend the night. For her birthday this year she wanted to have a sleepover party with a glow in the dark theme. With everything else going on, we struggled to find time to fit it in.
Somehow, mom opted for a weeknight. Thankfully it worked out to be a weeknight with nursing. Two of the three girls are staying overnight, but they all hung out this evening.
They made their own pizzas for dinner, decorated the cake with gel tubes, made shirts with glow in the dark puff paints, colored with highlighters, did sparklers outside, colored with glow stick markers, and have about 900284829 lit up glowsticks glowing in Averies room currently.
I’ve told them to sleep a few times. I think they’ve finally given up now, but when I went in at 11:52 and told them they were up so late that there were only 8 minutes left until tomorrow, Averie very seriously looked upset and said “you mean we’re only going to get 8 minutes of sleep?”
They’re a good bunch of girls, they’ve played well together and I haven’t heard a single argument or fight. But we will see what the morning brings when they’re all tired and exhausted from their late night shenanigans.
