by Happy Easter! Dying eggs yesterday and one egg went rogue when we cooked it – it was heart shaped in the end! The others turned out really cute too.
Averie’s Easter egg hunt was a bit of an April fool – she hunted them all down only to realize they were filled with pennies. Just short of 50 cents total. She wasn’t amused. Until she figured out that there was an egg in the lining of her basket that had cash in it.
We made it to lunch at the casino today with Scott and Kylee and our families – managed to see my dad for a few minutes and Grandma Elsie and Cheryl were able to join us as well. We don’t get to see them as often as I wish. Hopefully as the weather improves we’ll all be able to get out more this summer.
Traveling with AJ is always an adventure. Today was no exception. I’m not sure what exactly happened – I’m pretty sure he gagged himself, but either way he got himself worked up and puked on the table, all over himself, myself and my plate of food. Needless to say there aren’t any cute family pics of all of us from today. A little bit later on his concentrator battery died – we completely missed the warning beeps because it was so loud that we didn’t catch it until the machine was screaming at us. Swapped the battery out and realized the backup battery wasn’t charged anyway, which left us without any o2. So I had to quick hunt down an outlet while Aaron got the spare tank. We invaded a lovely family who were seated next to the only outlet, they offered me a seat at their table while we waited, which I declined – but they were sweet about it. AJ was of course oblivious and full of waves and smiles for these new friends of his.
Yesterday was my birthday – we’ve been so crazy busy that I haven’t had time to read through all my birthday wishes yet, but I’m looking forward to doing so tonight! Thank you all so much in advance for all of the love! Averie and Aaron put together a nice celebration for me at home. One of my gifts was a new sewing machine, which I really look forward to learning to use (I think Aaron was just scared of me breaking his more) 😂
Now it’s time for a quiet moment at home, a glass (or three) of wine, a little bit of work and a nap. If the kids allow anyway….
