We had a very busy night at home tonight! Averie lost her first tooth and also completed her first ever sewing project – a little stuffed tooth – while I whipped up a pillow for the toothfairy.
Felt is such a versatile material to work with. I drew an outline of a tooth on white felt, Averie cut it out, and then she helped sew it together and stuff it.
She also decided to sew eyes, a mouth and pink cheeks onto it.
Meanwhile I cut out rectangles, another tooth shape, and a smaller ‘pocket’ to hold her tooth and decorated it and put it together.
The toothfairy will ALWAYS know where to find a lost tooth now, and won’t have to worry about digging around under the pillow a very active sleeper!
It looks like a bomb went off in our kitchen, but there’s so much excitement and love out of Averie it’s worth it! She was even quick to brush her own teeth and crawl in bed to sleep!
Though she did ask the tooth fairy for $10 in the letter she left… Yesterday she was saying $2 and a letter. Inflation seems to move quick these days!!
