I haven’t written an update in a few days. I’ve been a little swamped with things going on, and fell behind! First off…. we are officially married!!!
AJs cath on Friday went ok. He has pulmonary hypertension, which we aren’t terribly shocked by, but it doesn’t pair well with the next procedures needed. The good news is that his pressures did respond to increased oxygen, so it’s hopeful it can be treated. The hospital staff here have talked to the cardiologist we have out at CHOP, and we’re currently awaiting feedback from our surgeon to see what he wants to do next. Meanwhile, we’ve started some medication for his hypertension and AJ is now required to stay on a minimum of 40% Oxygen. He definitely is a lot happier and active with the changes.
He also got his first haircut the morning of the wedding, he looks like a proper little 6 month old boy. 💕 Best of all? No more Donald Trump hair!
Our wedding at the hospital was perfect. Seeing AJ out of his room and in his highchair was amazing and being able to have (most of) our family and bridal party in attendance was a blessing. Our reception went well too – between the weather and numerous cold and flu bugs going around we had fewer people than expected, but definitely appreciate that folks erred on the side of caution and helped us keep the germs away. The leftovers didn’t go to waste with the main courses finding their way to local shelters and desserts making it to the staff at the hospital. I’ll have more to say about the wedding later, but for now? A short and sweet thank you to everyone who was able to help and be there to support us on our special day is in order.
Meanwhile, if you could say a quick prayer or two for a good prognosis from our surgeon out at CHOP that would be much appreciated! 💕
