The first couple of hours post surgery, and prior to my update that I wrote yesterday were a little rocky, but ever since – things have been relatively stable. The most excitement we’ve had since then was a scare late last night where his cath tube was stuck. Thankfully after 4 hours or so a second urologist was able to come up and get it out.
Following that I managed to get about 6 hours of sleep back at the hotel and Aaron attempted to sleep in one of the sleep rooms at the hospital.
Recovery is a long road, and we were warned that it could likely be more difficult than surgery itself. Initially we were told to expect 3-9 weeks for recovery.
During recovery I’ll be staying out in Philadelphia, hopefully getting into the Ronald McDonald house after the pope leaves. Aaron needs to return to work by 10/1, so he will be flying home in the near future.
Please keep praying for AJ’s recovery to go smoothly – your prayers and happy thoughts have done amazing things for AJ so far!
