by Last night Aaron stayed at the hospital while I crashed in the hotel. I slept soundly, and apparently so did AJ, he had an uneventful evening.
They decided to wait until today to redo his arterial line. They ended up having to use local anesthetic and were able to create a small incision to expose the artery and install it. Thankfully everything went smoothly and they were able to place it on the first try. As a result though he’s been pretty knocked out all day. His numbers have all been excellent though, and he’s been doing well.
We did get word today that we are scheduled for surgery on Thursday. This will essentially be step one of the Norwood procedure. We don’t have any details aside from the date and the name of our surgeon thus far, and are expecting to have more information tomorrow.

And an extra big thank you to the folks that helped with our hotel stay – with the pope being in town the hospital staff aren’t even going to be allowed to leave the building to go home, so knowing we will be within walking distance and able to get to and from a bed and the hospital is a HUGE relief.
