by Averie and I don’t get a lot of Mommy, Daughter fun trips these days. But it worked out that she was able to come with me to Texas to celebrate my godson’s birthday…
This kid — we went to the Houston Rodeo and she gave up all her ride tickets for a chance to win a unicorn instead.
She did get to ride a pony though.
Las had a photographer for her party who took some seriously cute pictures of Averie as well.
We took a trip to the zoo.
She rode on the carousel
And she was adorable playing with Lewis…
Meanwhile, Las and I also did what we do best… we baked!
That’s not to say that our entire trip was good. In fact, Averie and I had a rough start of it all. The hotel we originally had booked through priceline had bed bugs.
First they moved us from one room to another (and gave us money to wash all of our things).
But when they reappeared again, we decided it was best to relocate… even if it was 3 AM. I was up all night doing laundry that night, and unfortunately meant I was exhausted for a lot of the trip.
I can safely report though that thanks to extensive googling on the topic of how to NOT bring bed bugs home, we came home WITHOUT any bugs.
AND – I have nothing but good things to say about Priceline’s customer service, who did all of the fighting with the hotel for me to get us the refund we deserved for the bedbug infested room!
