by This might be THE single best thing I’ve purchased in a while! The only things AJ consistently asks for are his daddy, his I-pad, his puppy at bedtime, to take a bath, and to go outside. He loves being outside!
Unfortunately outside doesn’t love him. With his cardiac issues he overheats easily, and with his trach, going swimming is (mostly) out of the question, and although he can and does play at the water table, it takes a lot of supervision.
This, on the other hand, is perfect for him and solves a lot of the issues we have with outdoors. This is a 6×9 foot “water blob”, where the water is contained inside, basically making it a giant outdoor waterbed, filled with cool water. He loves it, it keeps him cool, and it’s a sensory activity that helps him work on his balance too.
It also has a hookup for a sprinkler that runs down one of the long sides. Averie is looking forward to trying out when AJ is done on it for the day, I imagine it’ll be a lot like a slip and slide, but padded!
