by Guess who has made it back to Iowa today??
I’m told AJ was a gem on his flight here, and he’s currently happily settling into his room back at UIHC. He stayed awake long enough to say “Hi” to me on arrival and pass back out to sleep, all that travel business is hard work!
We’re slowly piecing together what’s next, but for now? He’s off all of his painkillers and really is only on a regimen of diuretics and supplements on a regular basis. He still has his trach and is still on the ventilator, but the settings on it are relatively minimal – at least compared to before.
And ultimately? We’re “home” here in Iowa, and that’s the important piece!
